Luna Park

Luna Park is an international, interdisciplinary, multi-media performance project that researches the state of tradition in the urban setting of a modern metropolis. Artists from Istanbul, Dortmund, Munich and Madrid will realize this artistic research in several steps combining video, choreography, media-art, installation and Performing Arts. Therefore the artistic outputs will be in various forms such as video, dance, site-specific performance, multi-media installation, and the combination of these. Furthermore it will work with space-modules which are combined due to the location it takes place. Thematically LUNA PARK researches the question if traditions are present in modern society. What role do they have? How did they change in the course of the last decades? Are they part or contrary to the demands of a modern urban society? The research will show the rich background of the participants. Thus this exchange will lead to a better mutual understanding among the international teams and will find its output in the performances. It could be said that the performances in Germany will be a cultural ambassador for today’s Istanbul in Germany and a cultural ambassador for today’s Germany in Istanbul. Luna Park günümüzün metropol kentlerinde gelenek ile globalism arasındaki ilişkiyi araştıran, çok disiplinli, çoğul ortamlı uluslararası bir projedir. İstanbul, Dortmund, Münih ve Madrit’ten sanatçılar proje sürecinde yapacakları sanatsal araştırmaların sonucunda video, dans, yeni medya, yerleştirme ve performans gibi çeşitli alanlarda veya bu alanları bir araya getiren işler üreteceklerdir. Projenin çıktısı çok disiplinli ve mekana bağlı olarak değişik modüllerden oluşan bir performans-sergi olacak. Tematik olrarak Luna Park günümüz globalleşen şehirlerinde geleneği sorgular. Bugün geleneğin rolu nedir? Son birkaç on yılda gelenekler nasıl değişiklikler gösterdi? Günümüz metropol hayatının ihtiyaçları içersinde gelenekler onun uyumlu bir parçası olabilmekte engel mi yoksa teşkil etmektedir? Luna Park, katılımcı sanatçıların farklı arkaplanlara sahip zengin kişisel deneyimleri ve duyarlılıkları ile, birlikte çalışma içinde bu soruları sanat yolu ile sorma ve belki cevapları ima etme sürecinin geniş bir yelpazeye yayılan sonuçlarını izleyici ile buluşturacaktır. Luna Park projesi artscenico (Doprtmund) tarafından BIS (Istanbul) ortaklığı ile yürütülmektedir.

Eine Koproduktion von artscenico performing arts, dem Theater im Depot, dem Istanbuler Festival „Amber“ und Anna Konjetzky aus München. „Luna Park“ ist ein interdisziplinäres Projekt, eine Komposition aus Räumen, Tönen, Bildern und Bewegung, welches Eigenheiten und Gemeinsamkeiten der Länder/Orte auf inhaltlich und künstlerisch vielfältige Weise darstellt und alle Sinne anspricht. Video-Kompositionen zeigen Abrisse alltäglicher Situationen im urbanen Umfeld. Ausgehend davon besucht das Publikum verschiedene Räume, die sich durch ihre Intimität der Bilder- und Tonflut entgegen stellen. Zum Einsatz kommen Original-Tonaufnahmen aus Istanbul und dem Ruhrgebiet, Tanzminiaturen, die sich der persönlichen Sicht der Tänzerinnen bedienen und weitere Module, die je nach Spielort zusammengestellt werden und Okzident und Orient miteinander in Dialog treten lassen. „Luna Park“ steht für eine Welt, die von technischer Innovation und unübersichtlicher Informationsflut dominiert wird, in der Unterschiede verblassen und Traditionen zu verschwinden drohen. Die Aufführungen werden in den jeweiligen Partnerstädten und –ländern aufgeführt, jeweils transponiert für die zur Verfügung stehenden Orte. Metodology and Schedule

To guarantee a professional and artistically high-quality output the artistic directors will decide with the artists on the content and the means of presentation. The artists can take part in the project by invitation only. All artistic means will be possible as form for creation (video, dance, music, fine arts, photography, multimedia, music, acting and combinations of these). The artistic directors will decide on the combination of the different works for the final presentations and they have the possibility to create parts of the performance on their own.

Both parties (artscenico and BIS) already developed a written theme which was finalized in a meeting in İstanbul in the last November. Artistic directors of artsceneco and BIS are responsible to create a video which visualize the theme and shot in each cities; artsceneco in dortmund and BIS in İstanbul. These videos with the written theme will be given to the participating artists as a base for their artistic projects. The artists will develop their projects either in Dorthmund or İstanbul or both cities. The final works will be exhibited in Dorthmund or İstanbul.

Yöntem ve Program

Sanatsal olarak yüksek kaliteli ürünler elde etmek için sanat yöneticileri içerik ve sergileme biçimlerine sanatçılarla birlikte karar verecektir. Projeye sadece davetli sanatçılar katılacaklardır. Proje alan olarak tüm görsel-işitsel sanat formları (video,dans, fotoğraf, müzik, multimedia, performans gibi) ve bunların kombinasyonlarına açıktır. Nihai performans ve sergileme için işlere ve sergileme biçimine sanat yöneticileri sergi mekanı ve diğer koşullara bağlı olarak karar vereceklerdir.

Artscenico ve BIS birlikte tema metnini yazmışlar ve metne eşlik eden video kayıtları hazırlamışlardır. Bu metin ve görsel malzeme sanatçılar yola çıkış noktası olacaktır. Son ürünler Dortmund, İstanbul ve Münih’te sergilenecektir.
